I am Roo Palmer, born and bred in Australia. I am a wife, mother and senior soldier with the Salvation Army.
I began writing in high school, but didn't take it up seriously until my early twenties. I began to become zealous for writing, trying everything I was interested in; poetry, articles and novels. I started searching for courses and writers support groups to attend to improve my work. I was involved with the Fellowship of Australian Writers and the Society of Women Writers - both great support groups to guide me along the step of writing and publishing, especially in the earlier days.
Writing for me is not just an interest, but also a gift from God, as well as my career. I use my gift to glorify God and to share the message of Jesus Christ through story telling. Those who have talents in all sorts of art forms are often seen as 'too hippy' by the outside world, but we are mostly normal people who just have a story to tell and want to express it through story writing or whatever art medium we use.
